چکیده

INTRODUCTION: Arterial spin labeling (ASL) is an emerging tool for the assessment of myocardial perfusion and perfusion reserve in humans. This technique requires registration of multiple images and suffers from low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) [1-4]. In this work, we present a novel approach for mapping perfusion and perfusion reserve based on ASL data. Unregistered spatial data is transformed into a polar coordinate frame and then simultaneously filtered and re-sampled onto a polar grid to boost SNR while generating useful visualizations [5]. This approach is tailored to the formation of quantitative maps from unregistered low-SNR data, and is not specific to ASL.

Myocardial ASL perfusion reserve test detects ischemic segments in initial cohort of 10 patients with angiographic CAD

Background Myocardial ASL is a technique for the assessment of myocardial blood flow (MBF) without contrast agents. It can be safely applied to patients with end-stage renal disease who are not candidates for first-pass imaging with contrast agents. Myocardial ASL perfusion imaging performed at rest and during adenosine stress provides perfusion reserve (MBFstress/MBFrest), which is a common in...

Arterial spin labeled MRI detects clinically relevant increases in myocardial blood flow with vasodilatation

OBJECTIVES This study sought to determine whether arterial spin labeled (ASL) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is capable of detecting clinically relevant increases in regional myocardial blood flow (MBF) with vasodilator stress testing in human myocardium. BACKGROUND Measurements of regional myocardial perfusion at rest and during vasodilatation are used to determine perfusion reserve, which...

Assessment of segmental myocardial blood flow and myocardial perfusion reserve by adenosine-stress myocardial arterial spin labeling perfusion imaging.

PURPOSE To determine the feasibility of measuring increases in myocardial blood flow (MBF) and myocardial perfusion reserve (MPR) on a per-segment basis using arterial spin labeled (ASL) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with adenosine vasodilator stress in normal human myocardium. MATERIALS AND METHODS Myocardial ASL scans at rest and during adenosine infusion were incorporated into a routine...

Qualitative and quantitative myocardial perfusion with arterial spin labeling

Introduction A reduction of myocardial blood perfusion is the main physio-pathologic mechanism determining ischemic heart disease. Whilst SPECT and echocardiography are considered the reference standards for imaging perfusion defects, MRI techniques are emerging. Dynamic imaging of the first-pass of a contrast agent is currently the most frequently used of these techniques, however, guidelines ...

Myocardial perfusion scan accuracy in detection of coronary artery disease - Comparison with exercise stress test [Persian]

Introduction: In patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) noninvasive evaluation for detection of ischemia is important to avoid invasive interventions like angiography. Exercise stress test is conventionally the first study used in evaluation of CAD. Considering the noninvasive nature of the myocardial perfusion scan, we decided to compare its accuracy with stress test. Methods: Patie...
